Artist and Printmaker
My printmaking explores what endures and what is transformed over time and by memory.
I collect images and ideas in sketch books, photo albums and notebooks drawing inspiration from a range of sources. The printmaking process is a dialogue between the original inspiration, my memory, and the constraints and possibilities of the printmaking method I am working with. It is this dialogue that makes it an endlessly fascinating process.
I work in monotype, collagraph, mezzotint and etching choosing a method that best suits the subject I wish to explore. The prints on display here are from a series of etchings of abandoned buildings in remote locations.
I am a member of Manchester Print Club and Hot Bed Press printing studio in Salford.
